The last post I wrote on January 14.....my bright idea is not so bright after 13 days!!! :)

So here I sit in the Portland, OR airport...maybe I should just Blog when I am in airports!! That may actually work out better.

As you can tell by the picture, I have a horse. Well, actually I have four. Logan, Legend, Blaze and Prendar. My husband and I have collected quite a little menagerie over the years. Seven cats, 4 dogs, four horses, three Roosters and two goats. Still on the hunt for a partridge in a Pear tree!!

So what do I do with my horses? Well first of all I need to clarify, we are "theirs", they own us. I came to that conclusion one day as I sat on a bucket in the dry lot communing with them. Logan was right over the top of me and obviously (to me) claiming me as his own. He was not being overt about keeping the others away, but they were not allowed to spend too much time getting a scratch or kisses before he would twitch an ear and send them off. They did not go far, maybe 1 foot or so and so I still felt surrounded by sleepy, contented, cool yet sunny day horse energy.

I was trying not to think about all my chores and be in the moment, but my mind still turned towards things needing to be done. "If only you (Logan) could clean up your own pooh and make your own bed", I thought. At that moment, it dawned on me that I did not own them, but they owned me.

Think about it! If I owned them, they would be working for me, not the other way around! As soon as thought formed in my mind, the horses all started licking and chewing. As if to say, "Oh yeah, she finally got it!". I laughed and laughed because, as usual, they were right!
